Can you believe we are already over halfway through April? While this time at home seems like it’s been going on forever, I do feel like this entire month has flown by. As we begin a new week, I remind myself of the joys last week brought, big and small. Perspective has been everything during quarantine, and taking the time to list out these things has given me such a stronger sense of gratitude during this time.
I encourage you to stop and think about your week, and to think of 10 positive or joyful things you experienced. Maybe it’s something as small as a good cup of coffee, or something bigger like a meaningful conversation. Either way, it’s a great reminder to look at this season of life from a glass half-full point of view!
So, here are the ten things that brought me joy this week!
1. I feel like this week I finally reached a point of being able to fully rest, and not feel the weight of stress throughout the entire week. I will say, I think a large part of it is because I have definitive answers on things like our wedding being officially postponed and having an affirmative answer that we will not be going back to school this year. That’s not to say I am not heartbroken over those things, but there is a sense of relief in no longer stressing over the unknown, because it is fully out of my control. As much as I wish I could be back in our classroom, there’s nothing I can do to change that, so I have accepted what is reality and have felt so much better because of it. I’ll share more on the topic of school soon, because I have lots of thoughts and feelings on it and missing my babies.
2. This girl loves her Tex-Mex, and to-go Chuys fajitas on a Friday night with homemade jalapeño margaritas and good company is a happy thing to me!
3. In case you missed it, Sprinkled with Pink took a virtual roadtrip to my bachelorette party in 30A, and it was SO much fun to relive! By the way, SWP is the cutest gift & bachelorette boutique, with the most adorable products! You need to check them out!
4. I shared my new stationery in a post this week, and I am loving using it! I am starting to journal again, and having cute stationery to jot it all down is even more motivation!
5. Okay… the Disney sing-along that aired on Thursday night was the most adorable thing I’ve ever seen. So many all-time Disney favorites were shared by amazing artists like Michale Bublé, Thomas Rhett, Jennifer Hudson, and more! Such a cute and joyful special to watch!
6. I threw on one of my favorite maxi dresses from Target to work from home on Thursday, just because, and it made me happy! Getting up and getting dressed has been so helpful for my productivity and mood during this stay at home time!
7. Friday night I had a class celebration Zoom call with my kiddos, followed by trivia night with the entire Kindergarten grade level. Seeing so many sweet faces from my class and also others I’ve grown to love in other kinder classes this year was so special. We had so much fun reviewing the past couple weeks of learning with some fun trivia questions!
8. The one TV show I’ll never get tired of. Thank goodness for re-runs that run throughout the day on cable TV, because I’m missing Friends hard right now on Netflix!
9. Once again, it’s the little things. I switched up my coffee creamer this week, and have been enjoying that morning cup of happiness a little extra.
10. I’ve done what I do best a lot this week – and that’s online shop! I’ve been searching for my second white dress for that special day in May! (I’m saving my actual wedding dress for August.) I’ve had a lot of fun exploring many different ideas for what to wear for our May ceremony, and have found a couple different dresses to choose from that I’m really excited about!
And that’s it! Ten things that made me smile and brought some added joy to my week! I hope you have a great Sunday!
xx,
Madison
