For as long as I can remember, since I was a little girl, there’s always been two major inspirations for my dream wedding. At a young age I was already fantasizing about what that day would be like, and these two wedding scenes were my very favorites! Still to this day, so much of what I want my wedding to be like comes from this inspiration! When I would dream about what my future wedding would look and feel like, this is where I drew my inspiration from…
Father of the Bride…
Trista and Ryan Sutter’s Bachelor Wedding
I love love LOVE! Father of the Bride is one of my favorite movies of all time. I could seriously watch it over and over again. I think what I love from Annie Banks’ wedding is the classic and traditional feel to it. There are flowers galore, and although her wedding is like 30 years dated to what mine will be, there are so many pieces of inspiration found in that movie that I adore. Every time the soundtrack starts to play on that movie I get giddy with excitement inside!
The second inspiration comes from The Bachelorette’s first wedding: Trista and Ryan Sutter! Now, when they got married I was in elementary school, and my mom wouldn’t let me watch any part of the TV special other than the ceremony itself… but Y’ALL. I was mesmerized by it. Every detail of their wedding was absolutely stunning and perfect! I think their wedding was the first time I knew I wanted my wedding colors to be hues of pink, and it hasn’t changed since! Again, flowers galore… I mean #goals. Trista’s wedding also was the mark of me insisting on getting married outside. I do love traditional church ceremonies, but this girl has always been an outdoor wedding kinda girl. The elegance and glamour of Trista and Ryan’s wedding is the second place I have always looked to for inspiration!
My vision is to take elements from each of those weddings I love and apply them to a modernized 2020 wedding. Our venue is an Italian inspired garden, full of beautiful architecture, flowers, and landscaping. I’ve always known I wanted to get married outside, but I didn’t want our wedding to have a rustic or ranch feel to it, so when I found our venue it was perfect for the wedding I dreamed of!
My two favorite pieces of inspiration from Father of the Bride and Trista and Ryan’s Wedding are the florals and colors used in each! I plan to incorporate those elements through beautiful flower arrangements that we are working on with our amazing florist and our chosen color pallet! Our colors are blush pink paired with ivory, white, and a few brighter pops of pink here and there!
Being that our wedding is at the end of May, it’s that time of year of transitioning from Spring to Summer, and I really want to play on the tones and happiness of that time! I want our wedding to feel bright, airy, and happy! To give you a better idea of what I mean, I’m sharing the wedding vision board I created to give a little more life to my aspirations for our big day!
My Inspiration & Vision
