For months and months I’ve seen posts and photos of girls wearing the iconic Hill House Ellie Nap Dress… raving about the comfort and quality of the pieces. After months of eyeing the website, debating over which print best fit me, and finally catching a fabric I loved in my size, I decided to order the mermaid print in the Ellie Nap dress, and let me tell you it did not disappoint.
I couldn’t resist the adorable print – absolutely perfect for summer. I love the intricate details in the print – the sea shells, cherries and mermaids combined, but also from a distance it is not overwhelming or too much. It truly is the best summer dress. Lightweight, a smocked bodice, comfortable, yet still so pretty and fun!
I paired the dress with a pair of wedges and a woven bag, but one of the things I love most about the dress is that it can be styled in a variety of ways. I also think it would be so cute with a cute pair of sneakers, layered with a cardigan. The dress is so comfortable that it can be worn for a casual day at home or dressed up for an outing.
One more quick note about Hill House: pieces do tend to sell out very quickly, and with that, unfortunately my exact dress in the mermaid print is currently out of stock. The Ellie Nap dress is still available in a few different fabrics including the stunning swiss dot white and another personal favorite of mine, the blue botanical. The mermaid print however is still available in other styles including the Caroline Dress, Athena Dress, and the adorable skirt & blouse combo (very similar to the Ellie Dress style) of the Paz Crop Top paired with the Paz Skirt – SO cute.
Lastly, the pieces do run a bit large and the Hill House website recommends sizing down one size. I am wearing a small and it fits very comfortably, if not a slight bit big!
This dress is definitely one of my favorites of the summer and I’m sure what is only the first of many Hill House dresses in my closet!
