Today officially marks my first day of the new school year! Each year brings a new excitement full of endless possibilities, fresh adventures, and the start to a journey of making tiny new best friends! My heart can hardly handle the anticipation leading up to meeting and knowing their sweet names, faces and hearts. It truly is the sweetest part of the job. As we begin with inservice today and prepare to meet our kiddos next week, I know the Lord is ahead of us and this year.
To prepare for the new school year, I’ve been browsing some of my favorite retailers to take my closet from all things summer with swimsuits, shorts and sandals to professional, teacher and work appropriate apparel. Some of my favorite basics to wear to teach include comfy t-shirt dresses, a denim jacket and a cute cardigan to add layers. I’ve built a teacher wardrobe capsule that can easily work from the beginning of the fall school year, transitioning into cooler temperatures and changes of season.
These pieces are intended to be mixed and matched and styled various ways to get the most wear out of staple closet pieces. I opted for mostly neutral color pallets, and utilizing outerwear to layer and style different dresses, skirts, and blouses. And it’s clearly no secret that I love a good puff sleeve!

To my fellow teacher friends… I pray you have a wonderful school year filled with many blessings, great experiences, and lots of learning and growth!

Madison,
I was an A&M theta shortly after you graduated. When I saw you in a giveaway with Angela from Thrifty Pineapple (love her), I knew I had to follow! I’m in the process of getting my teaching certificate and love all your teacher content. This post so speaks to me after being overwhelmed by how to navigate teacher dress codes on a budget. Thank you for sharing your talents and love for Christ!
Corinne! Thank you so much for being here! I love that you were connected through Angela, she’s great! Best of luck to you in your teaching career and if there’s ever anything you need please don’t hesitate to reach out! TLAM!
