10 things that brought me joy this week // Vol. 2

Hello! Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful Easter weekend! I love that Easter was the first holiday to come during this time period in our world… because I can’t think of a better way to be reminded that our HOPE is found in HIM.

Since yesterday was Easter I decided to wait and share last week’s ten things that brought me joy until today! So, here are 10 random, but sweet things that put a smile on my face last week! And here is your Monday morning reminder that the days may be long, but this too shall pass, and there can always be hidden joys found along the way.

1. While I SO miss getting up on Sunday mornings and going to church, I’m so thankful we are able to still worship together as a church through virtual services. Easter looked a lot different this year with church in my pajamas on my back porch, but it was still just as meaningful celebrating the resurrection of the King!

2. Okay this is just stinkin’ adorable. I already love Matthew McConaughey, and this is just another reason why added to the list!

2. Mallory got accepted to both graduate schools she applied to for her Speech Pathology! I’m so proud of her hard work! This was definitely a bright spot in our week.

4. Speaking of Mallory, she did a fundraiser for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals last week by “egging” peoples yards with Easter eggs for kids to hunt! It was such a fun way to spread some joy and make the most of this season, all for a great cause too! I got to help her out with a few houses, including a couple of my own kinder babies.

5. Our wedding vendors have been so so good to me throughout the process of changing our date, and I am so thankful. Postponing a wedding is hard, but our vendors have been so helpful and kind and made it a smooth transition, and I could not be more grateful for them!

6. A tasty treat, and a good excuse to get out of the house to drive around in the sunshine!

7. When you’re carrying your dinner plate to the table and your watch alerts you that *insert one of my 5 year old students name* pops up FaceTiming you, you leave your plate and answer the call! Random, spontaneous calls, just because “I miss you” are the best. The very very best. I’d give anything to be back in the classroom with my little peeps right this minute.

8. LOL I forgot about that website! One of my teammates made a couple of videos of our Kinder team dressed up as chicks and bunnies dancing and it definitely put a smile on my face!

9. Something about take-out on the bed of a truck, next to a pond with ducks, and Thomas Rhett playing, on a beautiful sunny & 75 day just makes the heart happy.

10. I was a little worried about changing my date on my theknot app, because I didn’t want to lose my countdown to May 30, because that will still be a special day. But then I thought, why not TWO countdowns? Because there are no rules in this thing, and two countdowns are better than just one anyway!

47 AND 131 days left!!!

xx,

Madison
