Since having our sweet baby boy (two months ago today omg), I have discovered something about myself… I. Love. Stationery. Like really really love it. I have so much fun playing around with designs and creatively trying different things out, and now having a little mini model to plaster on all cards and notes, it’s been taken to a whole new level.
When it came time to send out birth announcements, I knew I wanted something classic, simple, and handsome to share the joyful news with all those we love. Now I know they were all very much already aware of his arrival thanks to social media, but I couldn’t resist an opportunity to have a bit of an old-school moment with a classic paper announcement in the mail.
I took to Etsy for inspiration, but it seemed I could never find the right fit that both captured my vision for this announcement and also didn’t absolutely break the bank. I knew I wanted some sort of monogram crest for his initials, but honestly the options when it comes to boys are so limited, and I just couldn’t find anything I truly loved. That’s when I remembered my sweet friend and fellow COVID bride, Margaret had the most incredible wedding invitation suite complete with a watercolor crest from Dizzy Daisy Designs.
I reached out to Kamie, the creative genius and oh so talented artist of Dizzy Daisy Designs, and she brought my vision to life and created the most beautiful crest for our sweet baby boy! Seriously, just take a look at some of her work and you will be blown away! My biggest regret from our wedding is not having one of her stunning crests and watercolor designs for our invitation suite and other printed materials!
Maddox’s crest is exactly what I hoped for! Simple, sweet and oh so handsome… just like our sweet boy! It was the perfect addition to the announcement I made myself on Canva. I love the way it turned out, and his crest will be something I use and keep forever and ever! I also had some note cards printed here locally with the crest to use as thank you notes or as cards for gifts!
If you have a girlfriend, sister, or daughter that is pregnant… the gift of a crest from Dizzy Daisy Designs would be such a fun and unique baby gift! Kamie has so many stunning designs and there are options available to do a completely custom crest or a semi-custom crest. As a bonus… please enjoy the thank you cards I made to send out to all of our sweet friends and family who brought us meals and food during the first few weeks home! I had already sent hand written thank you notes for gifts to the same people just a few weeks before, so I decided to switch things up and have a little fun with the food thank you notes… I think they were a hit! 😉
