Since beginning the Whole30 in January, I have been on a quest to perfect a healthy fruit smoothie recipe! I was never a big smoothie person prior to trying the whole30, but found that it was the perfect healthy snack to curb my sweet tooth cravings from time to time. I was drinking them for breakfast when I was still teaching, but during quarantine I have been trying to intermittent fast and start with one for lunch! I love starting my day with a light and refreshing smoothie!
Drew and I actually just yesterday received our blender from our registry as wedding gift in the mail, and I am SO excited to start using it! We got this one from Ninja!
After much trial and error on ingredients, portions, and different kinds of berries, I’ve finally found my favorite recipe of all I’ve tried! So here’s what goes in mine!
Berry smoothie recipe
8 oz Califia Almond Milk
1/2 a banana
1 tablespoon of almond butter – I use Barney brand and it is Whole30 approved!
1 scoop of Vital Proteins collagen powder
A hand full of spinach
A dash of cinnamon
A cup of frozen strawberries and blueberries – I found that using raspberries and blackberries made the texture super gritty because of the seeds and they would stick to my teeth and mouth!
