Our Blue and White Guest Bedroom Refresh

Over the past several months I’ve been working in one of our guest bedrooms to transform the space from a sad, empty bedroom storing random things without a place — games, folding chairs, my wedding dress (still need to have it preserved), an old weight bench, etc. to a happy, bright room that I now adore! This project has been on my to-do list since we moved in last June, and recently made it’s way to the top of the list to complete.

Blue and white has been a common theme throughout our house and I love the touch of southern charm and color it adds to any space, but especially this guest bedroom! When registering for this Lauren Ashley Quilt I had a vision in mind for this space, and I am so happy with how it turned out! My goal was to make it a bright, welcoming space to make our guests feel right at home, and I think it has become just that. So come on in and take a look around…. stay a while!

Dare I say this is now one of my favorite spots in our entire house! Now accepting all visitors to come and stay with us for a weekend in Tyler!

I must accredit one of my favorite bloggers, Jessica from Frapps and Frills! When she shared her guest bedroom, I immediately scoured the internet to find her Blue and White Lauren Ashley quilt to add to our wedding registry – and it was a great addition! The quilt is such a beautiful fabric that I paired with a crisp white (and super affordable) comforter to add some layers. The ruffle Euro pillows and blue floral throws really brought the entire room together. I will say the floral pillows were a bit more of an investment than most everything else, but I love how it turned out.

Most everything pictured was either from Target, Kirklands, or Amazon. A few smaller decor pieces like the little gold seashell and rattan sphere ball are from Hobby Lobby and Homegoods. I love home decor and Serena and Lily will forever be my dream home inspiration, but as newlyweds in our very first home, I am all about affordable finds! I love the pop of color the faux pink tulips (ps they smell amazing and are faux!) added to the space and the rattan and ginger jar accents to tie in my personal taste and style for a classic, southern home with a touch of coastal inspiration.

One of my favorite finds are the ginger jar prints that were only $10, found on Etsy! I was a bit worried about overdoing it with ginger jars and blue and white, but when it was all said and done I feel like they complimented the room as a whole so well. We printed them ourselves and placed them in some white frames I found on clearance at Homegoods (score!) but I also linked some similar frames from Target!

Eventually I would like to replace the ceiling light fixture. Our house has the same light/fan in each of the bedrooms and I despise them. Like truly, truly despise. However replacing a light fixture is above my capabilities of home decor and can hopefully be another summer project Drew and I can tackle together!

I am so excited to host more guests in this room! I’m also already looking forward to my next project and room to update, I’m thinking my “cloffice” should be my next project for this summer! More home decor to come soon!

xx,

Madison
