I CANNOT believe I have a one year old! Oh my word this has just been the best year ever! What a joy motherhood is. While this year has been filled with ups and downs and it’s own set of challenges, it has truly been the best year of my life. Maddox has opened our eyes to a whole new kind of love, and over the last couple of weeks I’ve been able to reflect upon that love and this last year.
As soon as I found out Maddox was a boy I immediately started planning his nursery… and his first birthday! When looking for a baby shower invitation on Etsy for a friend’s shower last spring, I came across this invitation and thus began the immediate planning, pinning and saving of inspiration. I knew I wanted something classic, timeless, and truly baby boy – and that’s where the classic blue and white party came in.
It was a day we will never ever forget, and so much fun to celebrate our best boy! He has brought so much joy and light to our lives this year, and we are so grateful he is ours!
I will link everything I can here in this post, but if there is something specific you are looking for please don’t hesitate to comment or send a message, I’m happy to share!
Realistically speaking, this party was more for us to celebrate Maddox than it was for him. He’s happy with the most simple and mundane things at this stage, and I know he won’t remember this first party! So with that in mind, I decided to focus more on the keepsakes and starting of traditions, and save money where I could on things like balloons, flowers, etc. With the help of my sister, Morgan, together we did the balloon garland using these and these balloons! The high chair banner and party hat are both from Namesake Celebrations!
The milestones sign was from the same Etsy shop as his invitation and also all the rest of the printed materials. Cakes were from a local grocery store bakery – FRESH by Brookshires (and were delicious!), and the 1 cake topper was also Namesake Celebrations.
I arranged the flowers myself, and got a mixture of white roses, blue hydrangeas, mini carnations, and delphinium! Here is a link for the blue gingham table cloth – I use it all the time!
I bought a pack of gold frames off of Amazon to display photos from his first birthday session and the clay hand and footprint we did with my sweet friend Kristen from Love in Clay back when Maddox was just a few weeks old! The precious cookies were from the very talented Sugarbakes here in Tyler! I LOVE how they turned out!
Puppy party favors & matching tags!
I decided to get crafty and made the wooden yard signs! It was actually a lot of fun. If you are Tyler or East Texas local and interested in custom yard signs, send me a message! I’d love to help you celebrate! The carriage by the door was a purchase I made when we first found out we were pregnant, and here’s a link for the white 1 balloon!
Name Puzzle // Wrapping Paper // Gift Bags // Striped Ribbon
Happy Birthday banner is from Little Happies!
Happy Birthday monogram sign was also from Etsy and I made the monthly photos and then strung them on some ribbon!
My dress is from English Factory and Maddox’s sweet little bubble is from Haute Totz! We opted for his name to be monogrammed on the collar and it *kills* me! So sweet.
Our boy LOVES cake! He was clapping his hands asking for more before we even set it down for him to dig in. He devoured as much of it as we allowed!
It was an *extra* special day because Uncle Garrett got to make an appearance at Maddox’s party! He had just gotten home from a few week long stay in the hospital for an infection. These pictures are SO special to me! Maddox adores his Uncle Garrett!
It was the most special day! Happy birthday my sweet Maddox, we love you so!
