Wedding Wednesday No. 27: Our Ceremony Photos Reveal Part 1

Back in February, a blissfully ignorant bride-to-be shared my vision and dream for what May 30th would be, seriously… you can read about it here! Looking back at that post, I smile now, knowing that less than a month later our entire world was turned upside down, and little did I know all that would transpire leading up to May 30 and again to August 22. May 30, 2020 certainly did not look or feel anything like what I shared in that post, but oddly enough it was everything I never knew I would need or want and so much more.

My perfect wedding dream and vision seemed to slip right through my fingers with every day that passed in quarantine, and I would be lying if I said there weren’t many tears shed throughout the process of planning, postponing, and re-planning. But, much like everything else in life, I ultimately knew I was not the one in control, and He had a bigger plan in store for our wedding(s) than we did.

By the grace of God, August 22 was the most beautiful wedding I could have ever dreamed of, and so many answered prayers. I am so excited to share part one of our ceremony photos from that magical August day, and the ways in which God perfectly provided, even if it wasn’t our original date and plan.

I’ll never stop dreaming about this day!

Let’s reminisce, shall we?

My great grandfather’s bible!

How precious was our getaway car and driver! Mr. Weiss is the grandfather of my dear friend, London Hibbs, and he and his sweet family graciously gifted us the most beautiful ride to exit our wedding! I’m still not over it.

A moment together before our ceremony since we didn’t do a first look.

Framed. Forever one of my favorite things about the entire ceremony, the world’s happiest baby throwing the biggest fit at the perfect time! Payback will come on his wedding day in 25 years 🙂

It really could not have been more perfect. Sure there were a few small imperfect things along the way, but looking back, I couldn’t have asked for more.

One special note I just have to mention because it really is such an amazing miracle straight from God…. the weather! One of my biggest concerns in moving our outdoor wedding to the middle of August was the Texas heat. If you’re from here, you know Texas Augusts are brutal. We chose this venue based off the beautiful scenery, and y’all know my dream wedding was an outdoor ceremony! However, my biggest fear was my guests overheating under the beating sun, or someone from our bridal party passing out! Our guest count was too large to fit everyone indoors, so we knew we were going to have to make it work. Our sweet pastor reassured me over and over that the Lord would provide, and my goodness he was so right. At about 6:15 PM right as guests were being seated and our ceremony was about to begin, the perfect cloud covered the Texas sun, and not only did it cool off a little bit, but it allowed for gorgeous photos without squinting eyes. Nearly the entire ceremony was under the cloud cover. Also on what could have easily been a 105 degree day, it was in the low 90s, which was about as good as it could get during that time of year in Texas! So many prayers answered, thank you Lord!

I cannot close without saying THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU once again to the most incredible vendors who brought it all to life, especially our incredible photographer who captured so many beautiful photos, Jillian Hogan!
