Wedding Wednesday No. 32 // Our Wedding Day Timeline

Let’s talk wedding day timeline!

Our incredible wedding coordinator, Ricardo Tomas and our photographer Jillian Hogan as the professionals that they are – we’re so helpful in this area! Both Ricardo and Jillian were so organized and very detail oriented to ensure we did not miss a single item when it came to planning the day. The three of us communicated back and forth with tentative day of schedules before finding the right flow and timeline to perfectly fit everything in!

Since our wedding was outdoor and also in the middle of the summer Texas heat, we worked to strategically plan the schedule to ensure not only maximum daylight for photo purposes, but also the flow of events for guests to reduce the amount of time they were outside prior to the ceremony! Our ceremony was set for 6:30 pm, and the entire day was worked around that time and the time of sunset right around 8:10 pm.

I also worked with our glam team at Grand Slam Glam to establish a timeline for bridal party hair and makeup. I had 12 bridesmaids and there was a team of 2 heading up the bridal party hair and makeup. We started right around 9 am, and were finished with more than enough time!

My best advice when it comes to timelines and scheduling is this…

1. Make a list of the things that are most important to you! What photos you must have and those that you would like to have. For example: I made a note that I must have a photo with just Drew and I and both sets of our grandparents. A friend gave me that advice and I am SO glad she did… I’ll cherish the photo of us with my Meme and now angel Grandaddy forever and ever! This is super helpful for your photographer to help prioritize the shots and maximize time for you!

2. Work with your coordinator and vendors to make sure things are clearly communicated and then lay back and let go! The inevitable reality of it all is that nothing in life is perfect, and that includes your wedding day! Let go and let the professionals do their job. Focus on enjoying the day and don’t allow the stress of a schedule overwhelm you!

3. I’ll forever and always recommend a “private” dinner for a bride and groom after personally doing it! I loved that brief time with just Drew to sit down for just a moment, catch our breath and eat a bite before heading into our reception to party and dance the night away with all our family, friends, and loved ones!

Here is our full schedule and day of timeline! I hope this is helpful if you are wedding planning and a bit overwhelmed by the daunting task of planning out your big day!
