I started baby boy’s registry months ago… I mean just a few weeks into pregnancy and my brain was full force planning and researching for all things baby! I ended up deciding to use Babylist because I found that it was the easiest and most efficient way to pull items from various retailers all into one place without having to make individual registries at places such as Amazon, Target, etc. Babylist made it so simple and easy, and there’s even a bookmark tab you can save to easily click when looking at an item online to immediately add to your registry from the retailer site.
I know building a registry and knowing what you will need, what brands are best, what products are worth it/not worth it can be so overwhelming. Not only are there so many products to choose from, but there are also lots of opinions that float around those products sometimes making it tricky to decipher what might be best for you and your baby. I looked to close friends who have *recently* had a baby for much of my guidance, because not only did I trust their opinions, but things can change so quickly and new products and items are constantly popping up and changing the industry!
Between the advice of friends, extensive research, and trusting my mama intuition on what I felt was best for me and most importantly baby boy, I built our registry and want to share some of the items we included in case you are like me and may be a little overwhelmed by the process! *Let me just quickly put a disclaimer out there that I am by no means an expert, actually I am far from it with this being our first baby! When he get’s here things could quickly change and certain items that I thought he might *need* or *love* could be all wrong. So please take it all with a grain of salt as I am a new mama just doing the best I can 🙂
I know all babies and families are different… so my best advice is to gather all the research you can, but at the end of the day do what you feel is best for you and your family, and don’t allow social or peer pressure to make you feel like you *need* certain items, just because it’s what you see other people doing! With that being said, I hope this round-up is at least helpful in finding a starting point of what can be an over-whelming task for a first-time parent!
travel
- stroller – we ultimately decided on the UppaBaby Vista V2 system, and I am obsessed with it. Warning it is pricey, but after doing lots of research at options for growing with baby, and hopefully getting multi-use for more than one kid, it felt like the right fit for our family!
- infant car seat & base
- car seat adapter
- stroller accessories – another reason we loved the UppaBaby, so many accessories to add to the system to make it so handy!
- pack & play & mattress
- wrap – use MADISONPAIGE10 for 10% off!
- carrier
- portable sound machine
- stroller fan
- on-the-go changing pad
- diaper bags and dispenser
- car accessories – mirror, stow-n-go, seat protector
- diaper bag – not on my registry, but this is what I’m going to start out with using, along with this organizer!
sleeping
- crib mattress – use code madison_e50 for $50 off and check out this post to learn more about why we chose this specific mattress!
- bassinet – we are renting and playing it by ear on how long we’ll have him in the bassinet in our room! Rental seemed to be the best option for us not knowing what he’ll be like as far as sleeping goes and also being first time parents who are kinda clueless!

clothes
I did add a few clothes to my registry as I wanted to provide a little direction and guidance for any family or friends that wanted to buy clothes on the style we’re going for with little man! He received lots of precious clothes from family and friends (some from the registry, some not) and has quite the wardrobe built up! Here are some of the brands we’ve been loving, and you can also check out a post here and here to see some of the things I’ve been loving as far as clothes go!

Like I said, I hope this round up is helpful if you are starting to build a registry and need a point of reference on where to begin! My hope is once he’s here and we start to use many of these products, I can share what works for us, what doesn’t, what we love, what we don’t care for, and much more!
xx,
Madison
